Child: Mom, would it hurt worse if a knife fell from the sky and hit your stomach or your arm?
Me: Huh?
Child (a little louder): Would it hurt worse if a knife fell from the sky and hit your stomach or your arm?
Me: If knives start falling from the sky, we are going to have worse problems than trying to strategically make them strike us in the most less hurtful places. (Yes, I confused even myself with that one... can you have a "most less hurtful place?")
Child: Huh?
Me: huh?
Child: well I know it will never happen but what would hurt worse.
Me: Your not planning on testing this on your brother are you?
Child: "MOM"! "NO"
Me: ok, well that is good. still not sure how I feel about this conversation.
Child: Me either, I love my brother.
Me: Um, I love your brother too.
Me: think we could practice your spelling words now?
Child: sure.
