Above is a picture of what I would say is one of the cutest little guys, you ever did see. Sweet, innocent (ok, not so innocent) but very sweet, kind, brave, wise and so much fun. Below, is our little fella who has had one VERY BAD DAY! He stole a toy from Aleigha this afternoon. Aleigha decided that it wasn't acceptable and she wasn't done playing with her toy just yet. SO she chased him down, pushed him, and the said toy punctured into his eye lid. You parents out there know the scream I'm about to refer too. The kind that he let out, when he hit the floor. The one that takes them a few moments to breathe in between and is so loud and so different from all other cries, you are almost certain that someone is going to the hospital...yeah that one. Well that scream was coupled with him thrashing on the ground in complete misery. We immediately took him to the pediatrician who didn't want to do much, because it was "the eye". SO sent us downtown to see a surgical ophthalmologist. He cleaned Blake's eye, studied it for a long time, looked under the microscope said that he had a small abrasion on the eye itself and the obvious tear in the eyelid. The next question was weather or not he needed to have his eyelid stitched shut. He than decided that he would rather leave this "case" up to his partner. (back to the waiting room) When we met with the new eye doctor, He said that any other area of the body he would have stitched closed. But having a needle in the eyelid, that close to the eye would require him to be sedated. Because one wrong move, or blink of the eye and we could have more severe problems, for example, a pin hole in the eye. Here is a picture of Blake before bed tonight. You can even see him still smiling. Goodness, I love this boy. :(
