Today, January 20th, 2009, Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States. What a day it is. I know that my children are young, and trying hard to digest this day as we try to explain to them how symbolic it truly is. I'm happy to live in a country where hope is alive. Cole asked me last night, in typical Cole fashion "Mom did you know that we have a brown president?" "Yes sweetheart, he is African American and we are watching history." "Yup mom, his name his Black Obama, and he is going to live in a white house!" SO we have some work to do, but overall they are trying to grasp this wonderful day in history!

I stole this picture from "Quick Start My Heart" and agree with what she had to say, I too believe he held his position with great honor and dignity, what I respect the most is - he is a God fearing man that put our Lord before all! I know that I'm in the minority when I say I was sad to see this man leave today. Yes, I voted for Obama, but guess what folks - I also voted for George W. Bush. He impressed me during 9/11 and unified a terrified nation. I wish him peace and comfort as he leaves to find home again.
