Jack-O-DeYoung's........
Tonight was a nice family dinner when daddy got home from work, followed by something that our kids have been anticipating since we visited the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. We carved our pumpkins and than even tried them out!! Enjoy!! Let me tell you, these are some of the MANY nights that having 5 kids is an absolute BLAST!!!!! They were all on their best behavior, they were full of pride and these are the memories that I hope they hold onto forever

Kisses...
Anyone who knows us well, knows that Blake is a daddy's boy. That's ok, I take it. I Suck it up and remember to be thankful, I have a husband that is a great father. (It also helps that there once was a day that Dawson, Cole and believe it or not EVEN Kennedy were all glued to their dad!!! However, all 3 of them are VERY much so momma's kids now....) ANYWAY, back to the story of my baby. SO Blake being the baby and all, I have tried my best to get this lil' bugger to skip the first step of being a daddy's boy and convert right to being a momma's boy....it never happened. OHHHHH, how I've tried. I'm definately who he would prefer in a room of people, IF Brian is not around. But given the choice he would pick Brian over me 98% of the time. That's ok, I know my day is coming...but for now, I'm enjoying rare moments like these!

Round 2...
I don't expect you to understand what this process is like when you experience it with your child, but I will tell you having a special needs child is a challenge and a honor. We returned to Devos yesterday for another MRI for Cole. It makes for an exhausting, emotional day. Thought I would share some pics from our day. Thanks to Angie for bringing our family dinner last night, what a very thoughtful gesture...

Boy Scouts!
Well, we are the official owner of a Tiger Scout. This happens to be MUCH cooler than I was anticipating. It helps that Dawson's leader is one of our good friends and neighbor...and his primary goal is to make this fun and postive for these boys. Last weekend, Dawson had the honor of visiting a retirement community and bringing decorated pumpkins to the elderly. (What a postive experience!) The uniform that Dawson wears, he has learned to wear with pride and respect. BUT, we owe a HUGE thank-you to Grandpa and Grandma who bought this for him. We saved enough to sign him up for the season, but had 2 weeks notice to purchase the uniform that cost well over $50.00. Unfortunately, we did not have the means for this...but Grandma and Grandpa thought that it was important for Dawson to be a scout as well - THANK-YOU!

Looking for a Rainbow.....
So, I have gone without a paycheck since May. We have been fighting Liberty Mutual for my long term disability since than. We were told yesterday that my claim was being denied...DEEP BREATH. I will go through the appeal process. In addition, I see a new neurologist - Dr. Varda tomorrow. I'm excited for a second opinion :) At this point we all are!! A new set of eyes, another highly educated individual reviewing all my information... For now I will leave you with a glimmer of hope, a rainbow that I seen peeking over my neighbors house. God is good!

Saying goodbye to Summer...
The DeYoungs spent a great deal of this summer being a family. As you can see, we did lots of things that didn't cost a penney but created great memories for us. We were also fortunate by an Anyomunus donator to bring our family to Michigan Adventure. We had such a blast, THANK-YOU! We would also like to thank our old neighbors who sent us to a hotel when we were out of power, "Print it for Me" for the groceries and several neighbors/friends who have helped look after our family throughout this summer! And last but not least, we owe a huge THANK-YOU to our parents for helping us get our van fixed. For the first time in 7 weeks we were able to go someplace as a family this weekend!!!! I hope you enjoy this video as much as we do...
