SANTA....(thought you all would like this...)
Dear Santa,I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, soldsixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree onthe school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out overseveral Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years. Here are my Christmas wishes:I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze;but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy. If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprintresistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I canhide to talk on the phone. On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes,Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with five kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only beheard by the dog.
If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enoughtime to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it beingserved in a Styrofoam container. If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feetunder the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back.Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door andcome in and dry off so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leavecrumbs on the carpet.Yours Always, MOM...!P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa
I'm Back......
Hello All...yes I'm still alive....(well at least I think so.....) I know that it has been a long time since an update, I promise not to allow so much time to pass next time....WOW. Well, lots of new news......I'm still searching for a job...(any one have any leds????) Also, I'm enjoying life with 5 kids....it is everything that you can imagine it would be........AND than some. At this time of the year, it means 5 winter coats, 10 mittens, 5 hats, 10 boots, 5 pairs of snowpants, about 112 pairs of wet socks....LOTS of hot chocolate....and just plain FUN! (I think that is what this is called.......;)
Quick run down:
Kennedy is still taking dance, doing well in school, and had an adorable Christmas program at school...and drove into our neighbors garage with our van......(YES YOU READ that right...we will come back to that in a moment.)
Dawson is FINALLY getting the hang of school and the rules.....and is now enjoying himself in Kindergarten, his Christmas program is next week...(can't wait!) He has mastered the Game Cube game "Cars"...when I say mastered I mean MASTERED! Even daddy can't beat him.
Cole is loving school and his friends....he had a field trip to the mall to see Santa on Tuesday, and was extrememly cute on Santa's lap. He is on his new seizure med and doing relatively good....we have had only 2 seizures to deal with since October. Unfortunately, one was on the bus...:(
Aleigha just celebrated her 2nd Birthday....WOW. She could be the poster child for "Terrible Twos"....she is so DARN cute about everything though...she talks extremely well, and climbs just as good!!!!!
Blake is 9 months old now, and such a MOMMA'S boy. (Yes, I secretly love that!) He has become my third shift job. He has had 2 more ear infections since I last posted and has gotten 4 teeth. For some reason, this all seems to bother him from Midnight - 6am. I call him my third shift employment. He is finally eating baby food, and LOVES it. We go through about 6-7 jars of baby food a day.....plus he is still on his miracle formula....($23.89 a can....a SMALL can)
Brian has been out hunting when he is not working.....he went up North with his Dad and Uncle for 4 days.....Apparently seen lots of deer, but none with antlers.....He went out with Sweeney last weekend and seen "The biggest Deer of his life" but they both missed......;)
I've been plugging away applying for jobs and trying to get better.....for those of you who have not heard, I have been a little sick. Been battling some EXTREME headaches, and fatigue for almost 3 months now. Have had numerous Doctor appointments, Cat Scans, Blood work, etc. We are getting things narrowed down.....but my Doctors are still not 100 percent sure on what I have been battling.
SO I know that you are all still wondering how our 7 year old managed to drive through our neighbors garage.....Well mainly my fault.....quick pulled in there driveway to bring them some things, and discuss getting them a plow service for the winter (yes for snow, not the plowing down of garage doors...that demolition service was additional.) I had Kennedy in the car, we were just arriving back from Dance class....she was in her tights so I left the van running.....and said "stay buckled mom will be right back"! (YES, YES I know...big MISTAKE.) To make a long story short, I talked to long.....Kennedy tried to climb out the drivers side window to talk to me....bumped the shifter into drive, started rolling....became frightened, went to find the brake and discovered the accelerator instead. Plowed right through there SHUT garage door! 3 days, $1000.00, and a freaked out child later....it is all under control. Can anyone say "CALGON, take me AWAY"!!! I love my children, and I remind myself of that often on days like that.......;)
Well Happy Holidays Everyone...I hope you find yourself surronded by family, friends, and not in front of the DeYoung's Van.......
Visit often, I will update more reguraly.....God Bless!
